There are many ways to serve at Providence Presbyterian Church.  We have listed the various areas you may volunteer at Providence.  Some of the sign ups are specific to certain groups and others are open to the congregation.  What are your spiritual gifts and how might you use them?  Maybe our list will encourage you to SIGN UP!  Also, if your church group has a sign up genius that is not listed, contact the church office with your sign up genius link and we will add it to our list.

  • 2021 PPC Lenten Devotional

The Worship Committee is planning a 2021 Lenten devotional with messages written by members and friends of PPC. The theme is the Parables of Jesus. Most days we’ll look at a parable, but on Sundays we’ll look at some of the OT passages that the NT writers cited as proof that Jesus was the messiah. You are invited to write a brief devotional message (approximately 200-350 words) on a Bible passage for this project. Poems, song lyrics, drawings, or other forms of artistic expression are also welcomed.  To select a passage and sign up, go here.

  • Acolytes

  • Children ages 6-12 may serve as acolytes and provide the lighting and extinguishing of the altar candles (symbolizing bringing God’s light into the church and carrying it back out again).  Any young person in first through sixth grade (about ages 6 – 13) interested in being part of the Acolyte Program is welcome to join our group.  If your child is an acolyte and you would like to schedule him/her for a worship service, please sign up here!  Contact Nancy Baum if you have questions!

  • Attic Sale

    Attic Sale

It’s that wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas or even Super Bowl. It’s ATTIC  SALE time!  We need your  help. Bring your treasures to the CLC, starting Saturday, February  7, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm and every day after that during the week. We will need lots of hands and feet to organize, label and price  things  in order to raise money for the youth  mission trip next summer. The attic sale will be held on Saturday, January 31 from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. This is a great way to get to know members as you work and sort, and empty your closets and attics of things you no longer need.  (And of course, buy things you may need!) This is always a fun week for everyone, ending in a day of welcoming the community to come to Providence and get great bargains. There will be a sign up genius on the church website  for volunteers, and if you need a truck to pick up items, please contact Jessica Jacks Turkas or Anne Wood  Let either of them know if you have a truck you could drive to pick things up. Thank you!

  • Vacation Bible School

Providence Presbyterian’s 2020 ROCKY RAILWAY VBS
    July 20-24, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:00pm
Send your kids on Rocky Railway where we’ll find that Jesus’ power pull us through!  Rocky Railway is the summer event that puts kids on track for trusting Jesus!  At Rocky Railway, kids explore Jesus’ power and how we can trust Jesus to pull us through when life feels like a valley or a mountaintop.  Our prayer is that everyone involved will discover why and how we can truly trust Jesus’ power to do big things in our lives. VBS is open to children age 4 (must be age 4 by August 31, 2020) to rising 5th graders. A $10 per child donation is requested. Register soon as space is limited. And this fun filled week isn’t only for the kids!  We hope you’ll join us as a volunteer for 1 or more days during this exciting week. We can use your help in many different ways (Station Leaders, Group Leaders, Crew Leaders, Nursery Volunteers, Decorations and more!). It’s certain to be an amazing week as we share God’s love with 125 children in our community but we need your help to make it happen! Participant & Volunteer Registration is closed for this year.
