Prayers of the People by Kay Starnes:

Loving, Creator God, with grateful hearts we thank you for the blessings we receive each day. Thank you for the delight of the changing season, the joy and comfort of friendships, the love of family, and the blessings of food and shelter. Keep us always mindful of those who are less fortunate and guide us in finding ways to help.

We ask your blessings on those who are grieving the loss of loved ones. May they feel your love and comfort through the dark times. Restore to health and strength those who suffer illness and injury. And grant insight and direction to those who are struggling with life’s burdens.

Lord, grant wisdom to leaders in every capacity throughout the world so that they will make decisions that will lead to peace and the betterment of society.

Continue to bless our church, our community and our nation.

These things we ask in the name of the One who taught us to pray, Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debt, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
