Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Eternal Lord, we praise you for the gifts of the earth and sea and sky.  Help us to take care of these natural wonders so that we honor you in your creation. For the mercies you bestow on us, we thank you. Help us to keep our spirits and minds and bodies cleansed from sin so that we can live joyful lives that reflect your love.  Free us from seeking things, instead of your truth that gives us salvation from the chains of greed.

For those who are mistreated and treated unfairly, we ask for understanding and justice. For those who live in war torn places, we ask for peace which begins with each of us.

To those who are ill in body and soul, grant a soothing sense of your presence as they undergo medical treatments. For those who mourn, give them a real comfort in knowing that you are with them always.

We ask that you build up our beliefs so that we rely on your wisdom and not our own. We partake of the bread of life that is plenty and enough and that Christ gave for us as we pray as he taught… Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.
