Prayers of the People
Lord of all, You have given us a beautiful world to care for. Help us to honor you as we care for the earth and all its resources and not waste or ruin them. Thank you for giving courage to those in this world who are confronting mortal risk simply for being Christians. In foreign places, protect those who have no voice and no choice but to live under tyranny.
Grant peace to those countries and safe haven for those who are fearful.
Watch over those in our congregation who are seriously ill and are struggling to get better. We pray for your healing power to make them well. We ask that you ease their pain and their burden as they make the journey to recovery.
We thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us as we listen for you to speak. Please help your children to follow the example of Christ in being obedient to you. He taught us to live as servants and to pray these words… Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
