Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Lord and our God, we come to you rejoicing that Jesus is risen indeed!  In our Easter excitement, we are eager to share the Gospel, but our attempts falter as life continues.  Help us to practice resurrection. Turn us toward those who need our help, our prayers , and our love.   There are many who are sick in body and spirit and we ask that your healing hand be with them.

We look forward to the women who will join us tomorrow.  Soothe their anxieties and our nerves as we prepare for them to become part of our extended family.

In this world of misunderstanding and mistrust, let your light shine and extinguish the darkness of hatred. Help us to become welcoming as we seek to be in fellowship with those who are not like us.

Many are lonely and worried.  We ask that you ease their hearts and give them comfort and peace of mind. Some are facing huge decisions in their lives. We ask that you reveal to them possibilities and answers to lift the burden of doubt and questioning.

We thank you that you sent Jesus to show us how to be more like you and that his sacrifice in dying, gives us mercy and life.  Write on our hearts the words he taught us to pray…   Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,    as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.
