Gracious and Loving God (Diane Baker)
We give you thanks for bringing us here today to worship you, to offer our prayers of the people, and to celebrate.
We pray first for our world — this very planet itself…that we help restore its streams, rivers, air and forests and stop human careless destruction. And, we pray for the people of our planet. We have troubling times both globally and at our own doorsteps. Our simple plea is to be with us. You know our personal needs before we ask, but we ask anyway.
** We pray for our world and local leaders.
** We pray for those grieving
** We pray for those facing serious illness, struggling with diseases or dependencies.
** We pray for ourselves — give us peace and help us to better serve you and others.
We offer thanksgiving for our new musical instrument — for all those who worked to make this happen, for Ron’s talent in producing beautiful music to worship you, and for the joy its music will bring to each of us as we gather to worship you.
These things we ask in the name of Jesus, and pray the prayer he taught: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
