Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer (Martha Gilbert)

Almighty God, in Christ you taught us to pray, and promised that we would receive all that we ask in His name.   Lord in your mercy; hear now our prayers: for the Church universal, its ministry and those who minister, that the world might believe;

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God.

For the world, those in distress or special need and all in authority, that peace and justice might prevail;

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God.

For the nation, the state, local communities and those who govern in them, that they may know and have strength to do what is right.

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God.

For the local church, that it have the mind of Christ in facing special issues and needs;

(Congregation)   We lift our prayers to You dear God

For those who struggle with their faith, that they be given assurance;

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God

For those in the midst of transitions in life, that they be guided and supported;

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God

For those who face critical decisions, that they receive wisdom;

(Congregation)    We lift our prayers to You dear God

For those who are sick, grieving, lonely, and anxious, that they be comforted and healed;

(Congregation)     We lift our prayers to You dear God

For all members, that grace conform them to God’s purpose.

(Congregation)     We lift our prayers to You dear God

Hear our prayers Lord God as we repeat the prayer that Jesus taught us,                                Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth a it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
