Prayers of the People

Our God, we look to you as our  eternal parent who gives us life and teaches us the right way to live as you created us.  We rejoice that we are your children.  We acknowledge our need for your guidance and love to overcome the ways of the world that turn us away from you.

Your steadfast love gives us reason to rejoice in song and word and deed.   There are many who are troubled in spirit and in body.  Help us to recognize  that all  do not have good health or circumstances and  we ask your mercy  and healing  for them.

Show us how to bear fruit as we stay connected to the true Vine who is Christ.  Help us to be instruments of peace in the world where peace seems scarce.

Watch over the people in war –torn and disaster-ridden places and give them hope that soon they will have peace and justice,  shelter and food and the things that make your world a loving and caring one.

Christ promised to send the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us,  and he also taught us to pray to you the Holy One…)Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
