to sign-up for our Habitat for Humanity project!

Providence Presbyterian is teaming with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte’s Critical Home Repair this year! We will be repairing the home of Ms. Atornia Stevenson, 2516 Longleaf Drive (outside of Pineville).

The Habitat Critical Home Repair (HCHR) program identifies homes with unsafe or woefully inadequate living conditions. Like Habitat’s new home construction projects – sponsors (such as Providence Presbyter- ian Church) contribute materials and labor to make repairs. To qualify, homeowners must meet the following criteria:

  • Own and live in a home
  • Have low income
  • Have a confirmed need for urgent repairs
  • Volunteer time to repairing the house (“sweat equity”)
  • Reimburse the money spent by Habitat through a no-interest loan

The Stevenson family meets all of the above criteria and are in desperate need of our help. We hope to complete this project in just three weeks. We will begin work on October 12 and continue working each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday of each subsequent week until October 28.

The dates are October 12, 13, 14; October 19, 20, 21; October 26, 27, 28.

We need both volunteers to work on the house and also volunteers to provide lunches for each of the 9 scheduled workdays. We will work from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day (though if you can only work for a partial day, we will be glad to have you). If you can volunteer to work on the house or volunteer to pro- vide lunches for our workers.

If you have any questions or need help signing up, please e-mail or call Dudley Stone (704)-846-8670 or dudleydstone@gmail.com and he’ll be happy to help. Thank you!
