There are many ways to serve at Providence Presbyterian Church. We have listed the various areas you may volunteer at Providence. Some of the sign ups are specific to certain groups and others are open to the congregation. What are your spiritual gifts and how might you use them? Maybe our list will encourage you to SIGN UP! Also, if your church group has a sign up genius that is not listed, please email Tricia Shaw with your sign up genius link and she will add it to our list.
Children ages 6-12 may serve as acolytes and provide the lighting and extinguishing of the altar candles (symbolizing bringing God’s light into the church and carrying it back out again). Any young person in first through sixth grade (about ages 6 – 13) interested in being part of the Acolyte Program is welcome to join our group. If your child is an acolyte and you would like to schedule him/her for a worship service, please sign up here! Contact Carmen Bajorski if you have questions!
The Attic Sale takes place each February. If you have questions, please contact Joanna Hipp.

PPC Trunk or Treat
What is it? It’s a free, fun, safe, community-oriented alternative or addition to “trick or treating”. Volunteers park their vehicles in the church parking lot and hand out nut free candy or trinkets to the children. Our PPC youth will be hosting carnival games for the children to partake in as well as handing out popcorn and lemonade to our trick or treaters. Sign up here.
Vacation Bible School
Check back in the spring for our 2018 VBS dates.
For 2017 we are creating our own Advent devotional booklet using Advent and Christmas hymns as the texts for our devotions. You are invited to select a hymn and submit a devotion (approximately 250-350 words) to share with the congregation. Suggestions for devotions include your thoughts on/reaction to the piece, the history or background of the hymn, a personal memory elicited by the hymn, how it relates to a particular scripture passage, a description of the picture it paints in your mind, and so on. Drawings are also welcome. For this book, we ask that artwork be black and white line drawings that could be colored in by the reader. Devotions or artwork are should be emailed to Nancy Baum at firstname.lastname@example.org or placed in the Worship Committee mailbox by Sunday, November 12th. Sign up here.
