Fourth Sunday of Advent

Lord, you called David, a lowly boy shepherd, to establish your throne on earth.  You chose the young woman Mary to give birth to your Son to establish your throne here and now and forever.  When you call on us to be obedient, give us strength and peace of mind to do as you ask.  We need not be afraid because you have promised to be with us always in sorrow and hardship, in grief and in doubt. In a troubled world guide each of us to act according to your word. We thank you for your greatest gift of Jesus who taught us to pray.
